The location was GREAT - not far from restaurants and sites, the Cotswolds and the beach & downtown Carmel. Moreover, the hotel was within access to Ocean Avenue.

The room was spacious and updated, I had pleasant experience.
Appreciated spending my time in this fairly clean old-fashioned hotel. Booked a room with fireplace. The breakfast had a huge variety of options, including cereal, fruit, toast and hot waffles. The location was convenient, not too far away from Carmel Plaza.

It was clean place, staff were superfriendly, and I liked my airy room. The location was stunning, a 10-15 minute walk from View. They had an easy check-in.

The breakfast had a wide range of food, like coffee, toast, cereal, hot waffles, and fruit. I truly enjoyed the room with comfortable bed. The location was perfect and exceptionally nice as for me, short walk to good restaurants as well as all the restaurants. Also, Ocean Avenue was just a short distance away.

The hotel is a lovely, quiet retreat with easy access to good restaurants and shopping. Our favorite restaurant, L'Escargot, is just around the corner.
There was nothing we didn't like.

The lady at the front desk ( don't remember her Jane sadly ) was so kind and attentive and really went out of her way to make us comfortable. Room was average a bit older, but clean and cute... The place is well kept and definitely worth the rate!!! Would stay here again without hesitating.
Our room was really large and quaint but it was cold ( November) and we had to use space heaters. Still well worth the room rate $65.

mixed feelings about my stay
Mike was accommodating, great to check in earlier than expected! The location was fantastic. Everything we wanted to see was just a walk away.
The amenities offered didn't quite meet my expectations.

A nice quiet place to get away to.
Could offer a little more variety for breakfast other than just waffels and toast. We have stayed here many times and they used to offer more of a variety in the past.

Closeness of the hotel to the center of Carmel. Hotel staff very friendly.
Available parking at hotel is limited. There are spots available, but if the hotel is booked full, there is a chance that you might have to park on the street. Street parking is 2 hours during daytime hours in portions of the neighborhood. The bed in the room was firmer than we anticipated.

100% recommend for a lightning trip
Cozy room, comfortable bed, with free Wi-Fi for easy browsing and a convenient location just a short drive from Mineta San Jose International Airport, making exploring the area hassle-free.
Everything met my expectations.
